This is for a school project

Requirements:

  • 2+ players
  • A deck of cards
  • A way to track score which will be referred to as chips

Every player starts with 2 chips and 5 cards dealt from the deck.

One player starts and you take turns clockwise. On your turn, you can trade cards as many times as you want and/or wager as many chips as you want. The round ends when everyone has a turn and no actions are taken. Each round is decided by who has the best hand.   

Wagering

  • The player who won the round is given one chip or doubles the amount of chips wagered. If you lose a round, the wagered chips go to the winner. If you didn’t wager any chips, you don’t lose chips.

Trading

  • Trades are made with cards face down. Every player starts with 5 cards, but trading can increase or decrease the number of cards one player can have at an amount of time (Trading 1 card for 2 is allowed). Each player can lie about any cards they are trading away, so be careful who you trade with.

The best hands are as follows in ascending order (Poker hands):

  • High Card (Ace high)
  • One pair
  • Two pair
  • 3 of a kind
  • Straight (5 cards in ascending order)
  • Flush (5 cards of the same suit)
  • Full house (3 of a kind + pair)
  • Four of a kind
  • Straight Flush (5 cards in ascending order of the same suit)
  • Royal Flush (Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10 of the same suit)
  • Both jokers are an automatic win for that round

First player to get chips equal to the amount of players tripled wins (2 players is first to 6, 3 is 9, 4 is 12 etc.)
